Desk Based Habitat surveying and Species mapping Project

In early 2024, students from the University of Brighton undertook a mapping project of the cluster area. During the study they used open source data available online to provide each group member with a baseline habitat survey of their farm. They then used NBN atlas data to overlay the abundance of a variety of priority species in the area to record what species live in 1066. The data provides an important baseline from which the group can work to direct and target species or landscape recovery projects that will maximize benefit to the local environment.
